Signs at Work

I’M GOING TO THE AMAZON!!

Y’all. Words cannot describe how excited I am and how much I absolutely need this adventure!

We are flying into Ecuador and spending a few days in the Amazon before we hop over to Peru to see Machu Picchu.

And let me just say: SO MANY THINGS fell into place for this trip, and I’d like to take a moment to recognize the manifestation work going on here. For anyone reading this, please, give it a try. You won’t be disappointed!

It all started with an episode of Top Gear (or whatever they are calling that show these days — it will forever be Top Gear to me). In the episode, they were road-tripping through South America seeing all the breathtaking scenery and I just felt called to it. I wanted to road trip across South America and see those views in person. I found myself actually jealous of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May.

All of a sudden I felt like I needed to be in South America and it hit me: I’m a grown-ass woman and I can, in fact, do exactly what they were doing! I road trip to Mississippi all the time! What’s the difference in doing it in the US vs. another continent??

So, I texted my friend who has done her fair share of solo traveling to see if she’d be up for an adventure. Her text back: “I was gonna fly to Peru this wknd and cancelled it no joke”

Was this a happy coincidence or was the universe providing??

That answer was still TBD at this point.

We decided to plan the trip around Machu Picchu because, duh. And we end the conversation excited about the potential for this newly forming trip idea.

A few days later — as we were still tossing ideas back and forth about which direction we wanted to take the trip once we’ve seen Machu Picchu — one of our furniture dealers in town from Peru pulls individual packs of hot cocoa out of his luggage and gives them to each of us. And where are these packs of cocoa from? None other than Machu Picchu itself!

I took it as a sign and texted Meagan. She almost immediately found a super cheap flight ($500) to Ecuador from Nashville and we booked them right then and there.

I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating: I FULLY believe that the universe will provide if you ask and leave yourself open to receiving. Being open to receiving is an important part of this process because the answers you want aren’t always the answers you get. And you have to be able to recognize that even if it doesn’t look the way you visualized it in your head, it is all part of the plan to get you to the place you want to be.

But sometimes those answers come in the EXACT form you wanted and that is beautiful.

We manifested this trip almost out of thin air and it literally fell into place.

It’s such a wonderful feeling to have everything going your way, but it doesn’t come without work on your end.

Give it a try and see what happens.

Recognize opportunities when they come up and go with your gut on them. And when something good happens from that opportunity, take the time to acknowledge it. File it in your memory bank for when things start to seem like they aren’t going your way. And, most importantly, keep asking for more!

  1. I’ve been to South America but not to Machu Picchu, I am sure you will find it interesting, exciting, & often beautiful. Have a great trip and please be always aware of your surroundings.
